Tapas in the gorgeous historical city centre

The historical city centre of Saragossa hides more than one treasure. On top of its monuments and architectural gems, the streets will reveal another sort of wealth: tapas.

The El Tubo area is the most famous, but Plaza San Miguel, Plaza de la Magdalena and Plaza Santa Marta are also home to traditional taverns and more daring, innovative spots where the tapas format reveals its true potential.

In Saragossa, you’ll find some of the loveliest examples of Mudéjar architecture, a fusion of the Romanesque and Muslim styles that were the hallmark of the Renaissance period in the capital of Aragon.

The Cathedral of El Salvador, also called La Seo, and the impressive Aljafería Palace are two of the most famous examples, but there are many more. The church of San Pablo and the Zuda and Fortea towers are other beautiful examples of Mudéjar architecture.
